Full Professor

Marin Despalatović

Marin Despalatović enrolled in the study of Electrical Engineering in 1995 at the University of Split (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FESB)), where he received a dipl. ing. title (equivalent to the M.S.E.E.) in 2000. In 2009, he defended his PhD thesis entitled "Synchronous hydro-generator parameter identification based on on-line measurements" under the supervision of Prof. Božo Terzić.
Since 2001, he has been employed at University of Split (FESB, https://www.fesb.unist.hr), where he has gone through all phases of associate research titles of junior assistant, assistant and senior assistant, followed by the academic tenure position of assistant professor, associate professor, and since January 2022 full professor. From 2022 to 2024, he held the position of the Head of the Department of Electrical Power Engineering.
His research and professional work interests are reflected through participation as a collaborator in the following projects:
- 2020 – 2024: Power system disturbance simulator and nonsinusoidal voltages and currents calibrator (SIMPES, IP-2019-04-7292, HRZZ)
- 2019 – 2023: Metrology infrastructure for support of the intelligent power grid (INTELIGRID, IP-2019-04-7354, HRZZ)
- 2015 – 2019: Smart Grid metrology infrastructure (SMAGRIMET, IP-2014-09-8826, HRZZ)
- 2017 – 2021: Active system for electric energy storage and stabilization of electric grid (ASPEMS, KK.01.2.1.01.0026, IRI project partner: Sintaksa d.o.o., EU funds)
- 2014 – 2016: Improving safety and efficiency of cogeneration/trigeneration plants (RC.2.2.08-0048, IRI project partner: Banko d.o.o., EU funds)
- 2008 – 2013: Development of electrical drives for crane systems (project partner: ABB Crane Systems, Sweden)
