Full Professor
Goran Petrović has participated in two international scientific projects: "Creation of the third cycle studies-doctoral studies in metrology" and "Extracting electric energy from human body for supplying autonomous biomedical devices and new PVDF transducer optimization". He has participated in 5 domestic scientific projects: "Metrological infrastructure to support the intelligent energy grid", "Metrology infrastructure for smart grids", "Identification of synchronous generator parameters in operation", "Calculation of permissible current load capacities of power cables" and "Measurement and standardization service in the Republic of Croatia". He was the leader of the domestic scientific project: "Simulator of disturbances in the power system and calibrator of non-sinusoidal voltages and currents". He is a member of the scientific association: IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society.
During his academic career, prof. dr. sc. Goran Petrović taught at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies of electrical engineering, as well as professional studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split. He is the holder of the following courses: "Informatics" and "Measurements in Electrical Power Engineering" at professional studies, " Measurement and Signal Processing" and "Measurement of Process Quantities" at the graduate study of Electrical Engineering, "Measurement and Application of Synchrophasors" at the doctoral study of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. He is the mentor of a doctoral student. He was the chairman of the Committee for the Graduate Thesis of Electrical Engineering.
Goran Petrović has prepared 35 elaborates or studies for 23 different clients. The prepared studies deal with the topics of power quality, testing of earthing systems, measurements of geoelectric properties of soil, measurements of geothermal properties of cable beds. He has published 2 professional papers in the proceedings of the national conference. He is the head of training in the field of electrical engineering in the Professional Training Program for Energy Certification of Buildings. He worked on the popularization of the profession through the presentation of the book "And there was light", issued on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the electrification of Split, and through participation in science festivals. He is a member of the Croatian branch of CIGRÉ.
