Goal
The objective of this work package is to integrate and validate the models, control algorithms, and optimization frameworks developed in previous work packages through simulation and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing. The goal is to verify the performance and reliability of the proposed solutions for controlling and coordinating flexibility resources in realistic power system scenarios with high penetration of renewable energy sources.
Methods
To achieve this objective, an integrated simulation platform will be developed to enable co-simulation of resource controllers, network optimization models, and microgrid energy management systems. Extensive simulation studies will be conducted using benchmark distribution networks and microgrid models under various operating conditions and disturbance scenarios.
Key control algorithms will then be validated using HIL testing, where real-time simulators are interfaced with controller hardware or emulated devices to evaluate performance under realistic communication delays and hardware constraints. The results will be disseminated through scientific publications, conference presentations, and technical reports.
